 Chinese language Day in Stockholm

International Chinese Language Day was observed at the China Cultural Center in Stockholm on April 26, 2025. The event has attracted many young students and people who are interested in Chinese culture.

Johan Fresk, editor-in-chief of the Swedish magazine Focus on China, expressed his strong interest in Chinese culture. He and the magazine have made a lot of effort to spread knowledge of  rich and diverse Chinese culture from  Chinese characters, idioms,  arts, and gourmet.

Chen Laoshi, from  HSK Test Center in Stockholm, noted the increase of Chinese learners in Sweden in her speech. The Test Center aims at to engage young learners to study more about China and the Chinese language through many programs. She said, “We hope more people can use Chinese as a key to unlock the code to understanding Chinese culture.”

On the event, participants joined workshops like ink painting, calligraphy and tea ceremony, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese arts. The interest in how to test the language skills by taking HSK exams is very big. Many young students have also expressed strong interest in short-term study tours and exchange programs in China.
